 Why Sunflowers?

Sunflowers are known for their strength! They can withstand a lot. 

When they are stepped on or damaged, they can rebuild themselves and stand again. 

Sunflowers Chase Sunshine!
No matter where they are they follow it, seek it out. Even on cloudy or rainy days they are in consistent pursuit of the sun. 

If the sun is not shining, they face each other and find the light within one another..

With this group I want to inspire YOU to step into your own sunshine.

 Seek it out each day even on the cloudy days. 

During the stormy days look to each other for support.

That's what it is all about.

Always remember,

Chasing Sunshine kind of started by accident!

In November 2023 I hosted a small Friendsgiving at a local park. It was so fun to get to connect with a few friends that I hadn't seen in years. By March 2024 I was excited to host something again and decided to plan a Wine & Paint night at my house. It was once again a GREAT night with wonderful people. After that I had this crazy idea to plan a Ladies Prom. There was only one problem… not many of my friends wanted to attend. I decided to nervously make a simple post on a local Facebook Group page and the response was OVERWHELMING! So many ladies that never got to attend their own high school proms and wanted to come. In September 2024 I hosted my very first Ladies Prom. 50 women attended and I only knew 10 prior to that night! We laughed, we danced the night away and we all had the BEST time. Earlier that year while planning prom I was taking one of those nice long showers, you know, the ones you don't come by too often as a mom. Anyways, the shower is where I do my best thinking and I randomly thought of the concept of Chasing Sunshine. I needed somewhere to organize the details of prom and keep all the ladies informed so it was during the planning process that I created the Facebook group in May 2024. After prom the ladies started inviting their friends to join and well… the group just kept expanding from there into what it is today! That first year really showed me how much women need community and watching people find their circle of friends through monthly events only grows my passion for connecting people more. It's been fun so far and I can't wait to continue to watch it blossom. Sometimes dreams you never knew you had have a way of finding you when you least expect it!
